Host Live Stream Events in Bettermode with StreamYard
Embed live stream events directly into your Bettermode community to enhance interaction and engagement. StreamYard is a popular live streaming tool that lets you broadcast live events within your community space. This guide walks you through setup, embedding, and broadcasting live streams.
Prerequisites
Before you start, ensure you have the following:
- A StreamYard account on one of these plans:
- Individual Advanced plan, or
- Business plans (Teams or Business)
StreamYard is free to use, but embedding live events into Bettermode requires the On-Air webinars feature, which is available only on select paid plans. Visit StreamYard for more information.
- Basic familiarity with StreamYard. Refer to StreamYard's Help Center if needed.
Set Up Your StreamYard Live Stream
- Sign in to StreamYard.
- On the home page, click Create.
- Select On-Air webinar.
- Choose your source:
- Studio—stream a live event in real time, or
- Pre-recorded—upload a pre-recorded video to stream as if it were live
- Add additional destinations if you want to multi-stream to other platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
- Enter event details:
- Title
- Description
- Thumbnail
- Scheduled start time
- Click Create.
- Click Share with Viewers, select Embed, and choose a size option:
- Fixed size, or
- Responsive size (recommended for optimal viewing across all devices)
- Copy the embed code provided.
Embed the StreamYard Live Stream into Bettermode
- As an Admin, go to the space where you want to embed the live stream, or create a new space.
- Open the Design Studio for the space. Tip: Navigate to the space and press the
Ckey to open the Design Studio quickly. - Add an HTML script block and paste the embed code.
- Add any additional blocks to enhance the space design if needed.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: The live chat will not be visible until the event goes live.
