I haven’t personally seen a fully implemented “federated search” setup between Bettermode and Zendesk’s knowledge base using only the Custom Code Snippet app. It is possible, however, to create this type of integration by building a Custom App via the Bettermode Developer Portal.

With a Custom App, your developers could:

Call the Bettermode GraphQL API and Zendesk Search API in parallel.
Merge and format the results into a single interface.
Embed that interface directly in your community, for example, in a block or search experience.

This approach does require:

Developer knowledge to handle authentication, API calls, and UI rendering.
Set up and hosting of any middleware needed to process results.
Ongoing maintenance for API or layout changes.

There’s no native way to have Bettermode’s default search automatically include Zendesk results without this custom work.
