I need some advice on how to accomplish something that I honestly thought Bettermode would be perfect for and now I'm not so sure.
The purpose of the community I'm building is for professionals to network with each other. Aside from responding to posts or questions, I want them to have another means of finding each other. What I envisioned and thought Bettermode would be able to facilitate was via search. I want members to search for other members using keywords contained in custom profile fields. The fields would be things like Industry, Profession, Specialization, Skills, etc.
So to give you an example, let's say an e-commerce store owner wanted to search for someone in the community that was a photographer that specialized in product photos. The way I envisioned it, the e-commerce store owner would simply search the keywords, "product photographer" and anyone in the community with "Profession: photographer" and "Specialization: product photoshoots" would show in the search results.
But as of right now, it's not working because it seems the member search feature only searches by member name, which is worthless for my use case since it's about making connections with new people who you don't know by name.
I'm stumped right now, as I don't know what to do. I was days away from launching and then I discover this. I'd love some feedback/advice from anyone who might have some suggestions on a possible solution to this problem.
Thanks in advance. ๐๐ผ
