Turning off "auto-following" when replying to a post has come up as an early request in our community.
Some users feel that they are getting too many notifications after commenting on a post, given that they're receiving notifications not just for replies to their own comment, but all replies. It's okay to auto-follow if you created the post, so that you can see responses. But it feels odd to get notifications for all new responses after responding to a post.
So we would like to be able to toggle off auto-following posts when someone replies to it. The best case scenario would be adding a setting at the member level to allow members to choose whether they want to auto-follow posts when replying.
