Discord is amazing for discussions where the recency of the content is important. And we get it — you want real-time communication powered by Discord and asynchronous communication powered by Bettermode to work together.
This video features our former brand, Tribe. Since then, Tribe has undergone a rebrand and is now known as Bettermode.
Today, I’m pleased to announce that we have shipped direct Discord integration. In fact, there are two updates rolled into one:
Log in with Discord
Now you can enable social login with Discord. This means members of your Bettermode community will be able to log in using their existing credentials for Discord. All you need to do to activate this is to turn on the toggle button for Discord under your community authentication settings.
As part of this update, we have introduced Slack and Twitter social logins as well 🎉.
Receive community notifications in Discord
This integration will keep admins updated with key activities happening in the community.
You can opt-in to receive notifications from the entire community or select a specific Space to receive updates through CommunityBot, a Discord bot created by Bettermode. Here are the different types of updates sent from the community:
New posts and replies.
Posts flagged for moderation. Posts accepted or rejected from the moderation panel.
Request to join a Space and approval or rejection.
New members joining the community
Invitations sent to members to join the community.
All the notifications have the contextual community link associated with them so admins can easily go back to the community to take necessary actions. For instance, if you have a Space for customers to request help, you can connect that Space to a dedicated Discord channel for the customer support team.
The CommunityBot can also be connected to multiple communities to receive notifications from different communities.
