Hey, community 👋
Last week, I shared a set of important updates designed to improve the community administration experience.
This week we’re happy to announce the embedding functionality. Embedding a community into apps and websites can improve member engagement as well as the adoption of the community. That’s because embedding allows admins to present community components to members and potential members right where they are already engaging with the business, i.e., apps and websites.
You can embed different parts of your community in an IFrame or WebView:
Entire Community: You can pick between different layouts to embed your entire community into another product or app:
Default: similar to how it looks standalone
No sidebar: with the header and no navigation sidebar
Basic: without the header and navigation sidebar.
Spaces: You have the option to adjust the height of the embed. Here are additional settings for embedding Spaces:
Show header
Show post editor
Show about section
Make it read-only
Apply filter using tags
Posts: You have the option to adjust the height of the embed and choose to show the only content, only reply, or both.
When you are embedding a community component, JWT SSO can help you create a seamless login experience for the members.
Top use cases
Here are some ways to inspire you:
Embed the Space that shares product updates inside your product (this example is so meta!)
Showcase community posts that address FAQs on your website
Embed the Spaces inside your mobile app to power discussions without asking users to leave the app
Embed the read-only version of an engaging Space on your website and prompt visitors to join the community to participate in discussions
If you are educating your members through courses, you can embed Spaces for different courses to encourage members to discuss the topic right inside the web/mobile app
