Space post permissioning

Admins can control whether regular members can post in a Space and/or react to posts from a Space.

Although the common use-case of Spaces is to grow interactions in the community, there are instances wherein Admins would also like to limit or eliminate the member's ability to engage in certain Spaces.

How to set posting permission for Spaces:

  1. Login with your admin account > navigate to the top header > click on your profile image > access the Administration.

  2. Go to the Content section of the Administration and select the Spaces tab > find the Space to edit and click [...] > Settings. This takes you to the Space Setting page > Select the CMS Models tab and adjust the post type(s)/CMS models and the permissions accordingly.

From the CMS Models tab, admins can enable CMS models and define:

  • Who can post? Who should be able to create a new post in this space: 'All members', 'Space members, space admins, and staff', 'Space admins and staff', or 'Nobody'.

  • Who can reply? Who should be able to reply to the posts in this space: 'All members', 'Space members, space admins, and staff', 'Space admins and staff', or 'Nobody'.

  • Who can react? Who should be able to react to the posts in this space: 'All members', 'Space members, space admins, and staff', 'Space admins and staff', or 'Nobody'.

❗Notes: Depending on the Space template that was selected during the Space creation, the default post permissions may differ for a post type.

Posting permission does not apply to the Moderators and Space Admins. Moderators and Space Admins have the privilege to Post or Comment, regardless of the posting permission settings.
