Sitemaps
A sitemap is a file that helps search engines discover and index your site's pages efficiently. Bettermode automatically generates sitemaps for all paid communities that are not private, improving your visibility and search rankings.
How sitemaps work in Bettermode
For any public Bettermode site that is not hidden from search engines, a sitemap is automatically created at:
yoursite.com/sitemap.xml
This main sitemap contains links to individual sitemaps for each public space on your site. You do not need to manually create or update sitemaps—Bettermode handles this automatically.

How to access and submit your sitemap
Step 1: Find your sitemap URL
You can locate your sitemap in two ways:
- Go to your site settings, then SEO settings (for general site settings or individual space settings) to find the sitemap URL listed there.
- Alternatively, add
sitemap.xmlto the end of your network or space URL (for example:yoursite.com/sitemap.xml).
Step 2: Submit your sitemap to search engines
Add your sitemap URL to your preferred search engine console to ensure faster indexing:
Google Search Console
- Go to Google Search Console.
- Select your property.
- Navigate to Index > Sitemaps.
- Enter your sitemap URL and click Submit.
Bing Webmaster Tools
- Go to Bing Webmaster Tools.
- Select your property.
- Navigate to Sitemaps.
- Enter your sitemap URL and click Submit.
