About cookie consent
Cookie consent refers to obtaining user permission before your site activates cookies and tracking tools that process personal data. The Cookie Consent Manager app helps you present consent options to visitors and manage their preferences.
Cookie types
The Cookie Consent Manager handles three categories of cookies:
Essential website cookies (Mandatory) — Cookies required to provide site services and features to users.
Analytics and functional cookies (Optional) — Cookies that collect information about how users navigate and interact with your site.
Advertising and tracking cookies (Optional) — Cookies used to display ads relevant to user interests and behavior.
Enable the Cookie Consent Manager app
Install the app on your site. For detailed steps, see How to install and uninstall apps on Bettermode.
After installation, the Cookie Consent Manager will automatically display to site visitors on their first visit. No additional configuration is required.
How site visitors manage cookies
When members visit your site for the first time, they see a cookie consent modal with the following options:
Option 1: Accept all cookies
If visitors click I'm fine with cookies, all cookies are automatically enabled.
Option 2: Customize preferences
If visitors click Manage Preferences, a new modal opens where they can accept or reject optional cookies:
Toggle optional categories on or off as needed.
Click Submit Preferences to apply your selections.
Option 3: Essential cookies only
If visitors click Required cookies only, all optional cookies are automatically disabled, and only essential cookies are enabled.
