Available languages on Bettermode

In Bettermode, you can host your site in different languages and even make it multilingual. This feature not only allows you to translate the user interface and site emails into different languages but also provides the option to translate the user-generated content to members' preferred language.

โ— Note: Your plan includes English by default. Adding other languages is additional to your plan. For more information, please contact our sales team.

Using the multilingual feature, Admins can select one or more languages to be supported in their site. If more than one language is enabled, admins can select one of the available languages as the default language. Also, users can choose their preferred language from their personal account settings. This ensures that each member can interact with the site in the language they are comfortable with.

Bettermode is also integrated with Google Translate, which allows users to translate posts and replies into their preferred language. This can help facilitate communication and understanding among members who speak different languages.

How to Add a New Language

Admins can purchase add-ons for languages to the subscription. Once the add-on has been purchased, go to Administration > Settings > Localization > and select the language(s).

How to Set Default Language For My Site

If more than one language is available, the Admins can set one of the available languages as the "Default" language. It defines the default language for new members and guests.

โ— Note: The default language does not change the already existing members' profile language. If you need to update the profile language of all or many members at once, please follow the instructions provided in "How to Automatically Set Different Languages For Each Member" below.

Admins can set the default language from Administration > Settings > Localization > select the desired default language and click Update to save the changes:

How to Enable and Disable the Post Translation

By turning the Content translation toggle ON, a "See translation" button will be added to the end of the posts and replies, where you can translate the content to your profile's language.

Click on Updated to save the changes.

How Users Can Set Preferred Language For Their Account

If more than one language is available on the site, members can select one of the available languages as their preferred account language. Members will see the site interface and receive emails in their preferred language. Also, if the language of a post or a reply in the sitediffers from the member's account language, the system will provide a "See translation" button under the post, if this setting is enabled by Admins.

Login with your account > Navigate to the Account settings > Account > Language > Select the desired language > click on Update to save the changes.

Soon, there will be options to automatically set preferred languages to the member's account via:

  • SSO: Passing the local (language) as part of the SSO token

  • API & Zapier: Ability to automate updating the member's profile language
