Automate email campaigns using the Mailchimp app
Improve customer engagement by syncing site members with your Mailchimp list, automating email campaigns, and enabling targeted messaging.
Mailchimp is a marketing automation tool and email marketing service for managing mailing lists and creating email campaigns. Bettermode's Mailchimp app allows you to send site member data to Mailchimp and set up automated messaging with targeted campaigns.
Popular use cases for the Mailchimp app
- Automation: Set up automation to send a welcome email as soon as a member joins your site or a specific space.
- Running ads: Run ad campaigns across Google Display Network, Facebook, and Instagram based on your Mailchimp contacts.
- Better segmentation: Use tags combined with other data points collected in Mailchimp to build granular contact segmentation.
- Integration: Tags added to Mailchimp contacts can trigger workflows in other tools such as Zapier. For example, you can set up a Zapier trigger when a tag is added to a Mailchimp contact.
Important limitation
Mailchimp integration only syncs new contacts and events generated after you enable the integration. For existing members, you must export your member list and manually add it as contacts in Mailchimp.
Enable the Mailchimp app
- Install the app by following the app installation guide.
- Go to the app settings and click Connect Mailchimp. You'll be redirected to the Mailchimp login page if you're not already logged in.
- Log in to Mailchimp and authorize Bettermode by clicking Allow.
- You'll return to the Mailchimp app settings. Configure the following settings and click Submit:
- Audience: Select which Mailchimp audience will receive your synced contacts. Choose Bettermode as the audience.
- Tags Prefix: Contacts are tagged in Mailchimp based on the site spaces they belong to. These tags enable targeted automation. For example, tag users in space X to send them automated weekly update emails.
- Always update Mailchimp contact name and last name: When enabled, any name changes users make on your site will automatically update their names in Mailchimp.
- Send events: When enabled, user activities on your site are sent to Mailchimp as events. You must enable this option to set up automated emails.
