Changelog post type

The changelog keeps your members updated with the latest changes to your product or service. By providing this information in one place, members can easily check what has recently changed.

Changelog fields

When you create a changelog post, you can populate the following fields:

  • Title
  • Content
  • Type
  • Version
  • Release date
  • Tags

Type field options

The Type field lets you categorize each changelog entry. Choose from these options:

  • New feature: A capability or function added to your product
  • Improvement: An enhancement to an existing feature or user experience
  • Change: A modification that affects how your product works
  • Release notes: Summary documentation for a version release
  • Fixed: A bug or issue that has been resolved
  • Deprecated: A feature that is no longer supported and will be removed
  • Removed: A feature that has been taken out of your product
  • Security: A security update or vulnerability fix

Adding content

In the Content field, you can include text, images, videos, audio files, and attachments. You have two ways to add these elements:

  • Use the toolbar icons below the content composer
  • Use slash commands within the content field itself

Common slash commands

Type any of the following commands in the content field to insert media:

  • /image — Insert an image
  • /video — Insert a video
  • /audio — Insert an audio file
  • /attachment — Insert an attachment

Member engagement

Members can interact with changelog posts in the following ways:

  • React using 6 different emoji options
  • Post direct replies to the changelog entry
  • Create nested replies to engage in threaded conversations
