Key Features
1. Custom Timeframe Selection
Bettermode allows administrators to select a custom timeframe when analyzing a member's activities. This flexibility is ideal for tracking specific periods of interest, such as during events, campaigns, or general member engagement over time.
Steps to Select a Custom Timeframe:
Navigate to Member Analytics: From the member’s profile or the Member’s tab in the Admistration panel (see above).
Set the Date Range: Use the date picker at the top right of the modal to choose the timeframe. Predefined options like "Last 7 days" or "Last 30 days" are available, or you can define your own custom range.
Apply the Timeframe: Once selected, save the timeframe to update the analytics for the selected period.
Note: the arrows/numbers (either in green or red) beside certain data points is a comparison of the previous timeframe selected.
For example, in the image below, the text in red indicates that the member has a decrease of 50% new posts compared to the previous 7 days which is the current time frame selected.
2. Page Views
The member analytics tool tracks the number of pages viewed by a specific member within the selected timeframe. This is a key metric for understanding how deeply a member engages with content.
3. New Posts
Administrators can see how many new posts a member has created in the selected timeframe. This helps measure a member’s direct contributions to the site.
4. Score
Bettermode includes a leaderboard feature that assigns scores based on user activities, such as posting, reacting, and commenting. The member analytics tool shows the leaderboard score that a member has acquired during the selected timeframe, giving insights into their contribution level relative to others in the site.
5. Activities
The analytics dashboard displays the total number of activities performed by a member, encompassing posts, replies, and reactions within the chosen timeframe.
6. New Activities (User Activities Broken Down by Type)
To provide a deeper understanding of a member’s behavior, see the new activities categorized by:
Posts: Number of new posts created by the member.
Replies: Number of replies or comments made on existing posts or replies.
Reactions: Number of reactions (likes, upvotes, etc.) given to content within the community.
7. Page Views (daily)
You can also view a daily breakdown of the member's page views within the selected timeframe, providing insight into which specific days saw the highest engagement.
8. Activity over time (daily)
This total activity count is broken down by day and the type of activity within the selected timeframe, allowing community managers to spot patterns in member engagement and identify the most active days.
9. Popular Days of the Week
The system provides insights into the most popular days of the week for the member, based on page views within the selected timeframe. This metric can reveal when a member is most engaged, helping managers optimize content publishing or member outreach efforts on those days.
8. Popular Hours of the Day
In addition to daily engagement, Bettermode breaks down page views by the most active hours of the day within the selected timeframe. This feature helps identify when members are most likely to be online and viewing content, which is particularly useful for timing posts or announcements to maximize visibility.
Use Cases for Member Analytics
Identifying Top Contributors: Use the leaderboard score, posts, and activity metrics to identify your most engaged members, who may be candidates for recognition or reward.
Tracking Engagement Trends: Monitor how members engage with your site over time, helping you understand how campaigns or events impact participation.
Optimizing Content Strategy: Analyze the popular days and hours when members are most active to optimize your content posting schedule for maximum reach.
Re-engaging Dormant Members: Spot members whose activity is dropping off and implement targeted strategies to re-engage them based on their previous high-activity periods.
Measuring Campaign Effectiveness: Set custom timeframes to track how members respond to specific campaigns or content initiatives, assessing the success based on member activity.
Bettermode's Member Analytics feature offers admins a robust toolkit for monitoring individual member engagement. With capabilities like selecting a custom timeframe, tracking page views and posts, and breaking down activities by day and type, the platform provides deep insights into how members interact with your site. By leveraging these metrics, you can make data-driven decisions to improve engagement, recognize top contributors, and optimize your content strategy.
