Hivebrite publishes starting prices for two of its four plans. As of September 2026, Core starts at $895 per month and Flex at $1,995 per month, both billed annually. Prime is priced after a discovery call and Custom Fit is custom. That puts the entry point at $10,740 a year for Core and $23,940 a year for Flex, before any extensions or services.

Those figures come from Hivebrite's pricing page, which we checked on September 24, 2026. Below is what each plan includes, what costs extra, who Hivebrite is a good fit for, and how the numbers compare with Bettermode. We make Bettermode, so weigh our comparison sections with that in mind. Everything we say about Hivebrite is taken from its own published pages.

How much does Hivebrite cost?

Hivebrite sells four plans. Only the first two show a price, and every listed price is billed annually. We couldn't find a month-to-month option on the pricing page.

Hivebrite doesn't price by member. Every plan includes unlimited users, so a 500-person community and a 50,000-person alumni network pay the same Core price. What scales instead is administration: admin seats, group admin seats and the number of groups step up with each tier.

One line on the page is worth reading twice. Hivebrite says consumption credits "arrive with our next packaging update" and that final allowances per plan will be announced before launch. If you're budgeting for a multi-year contract, ask what those credits will cover and whether your plan's allowance is fixed at signing.

What every Hivebrite plan includes

Hivebrite community platform interface
Hivebrite's member-facing interface

Hivebrite lists four things on every plan: unlimited users, email campaigns, automations and AI, and hands-on onboarding. Its FAQ adds the core community features that come with every tier: groups, a live feed, member profiles with privacy settings, direct messaging, a user directory and map, events, memberships, platform analytics and access to Hivebrite's own customer community. API access, SSO for users and admins, Google Tag Manager and Zoom integrations are available across plans too.

The tiers differ in structure more than in features:

  • Core is described as a full community operating system from day one, with directory, events, memberships, connections and monetization included.
  • Flex adds community champions and group management, aimed at knowledge sharing inside groups.
  • Prime adds autonomous sub-communities and governance, so regional or chapter leaders can run their own spaces under one global umbrella.
  • Custom Fit adds deep customization, custom workflows and extensibility for complex organizations.

What costs extra on Hivebrite

Four capabilities are sold as extensions rather than included in a plan, and the pricing page doesn't list a price for any of them:

  • A branded iOS and Android mobile app
  • Multi-language support for 25+ languages
  • Connectors that sync data both ways with tools like Salesforce and HubSpot
  • Mentoring programs with built-in matching and tracking

Professional services are separate as well. Hivebrite offers platform setup and configuration, branding and design, technical and integration work (CRM, SSO, payment gateway) and admin training, "sized to your package." Hands-on onboarding is included in every plan, so the open question is how much of your setup falls inside it.

If you're switching from another platform, Hivebrite also says it will handle the move and cover your switching costs. Get the terms of that offer in writing before you count it in a budget.

Is Hivebrite worth the price?

For the organizations it's built for, often yes. Hivebrite positions itself around associations, alumni networks, memberships, mentoring and event programs, and says more than 2,000 organizations use it, including the CERN Alumni community. Events, ticketing, memberships and donations are native, which matters when the community is also how you collect dues or sell tickets. Unlimited users means a large network doesn't get more expensive as it grows.

The price bites in a few places. Core gives you two global admins and no group admins, so a team with several community managers is pushed toward Flex. Groups are capped at 5 on Core and 10 on Flex. The mobile app, CRM connectors and multi-language support all cost extra. And there's no self-serve trial listed; you evaluate through a sales conversation.

If you're a smaller team, or a B2B software company building a customer community rather than a membership organization, the $10,740 floor is high for what you'll use. That's where the comparison below is useful.

Hivebrite pricing vs Bettermode pricing

Bettermode publishes prices for its first two plans. Starter is $149 per month billed annually, or $199 month to month. Growth is $1,500 per month billed annually ($18,000 a year). Premium is priced by our sales team. Starter and Growth both come with a 14-day trial, no credit card required. Here's how the two price sheets line up, using each vendor's published pricing as of September 2026.

SSOSSO for users and admins across plansSocial login on every plan; OAuth2 on Growth; SAML on Premium

Three scenarios make the gap concrete.

A community under 10,000 members with a small team. Bettermode Starter costs $1,788 a year and includes five collaborators. Hivebrite Core costs $10,740 a year and includes two admins.

A growing community of up to 25,000 members. Bettermode Growth is $18,000 a year, with 10 collaborators, Ask AI and federated search, and API, webhooks and sandbox access. Hivebrite Flex is $23,940 a year.

A network well past 25,000 members. Bettermode moves you to Premium, which is custom priced. Hivebrite's unlimited users mean Core and Flex don't change with headcount, and that's a real advantage for a large alumni association that mainly needs a directory and events.

So the honest summary is that Bettermode costs less at the entry and middle tiers and lets you try it before you talk to anyone, while Hivebrite's flat per-plan pricing gets more attractive the bigger and more membership-driven your network is. For a feature-by-feature look, see our Bettermode vs Hivebrite comparison.

Which one fits your community?

Hivebrite is the stronger pick if you run an association, alumni network, nonprofit or membership organization, and events, ticketing, memberships, donations, mentoring or a native app are central to how the community works. You'll also appreciate unlimited users if your member count is large and still growing.

Bettermode is the stronger pick if you're a software company building a customer community for support, product feedback, onboarding and advocacy. You can start self-serve on Starter, move to Growth when you need AI search and deeper integrations, and put the community on your own domain without the "Powered by Bettermode" badge from the first plan. Teams running their communities on Bettermode include Lenovo Legion, Logitech, Yoto, FlutterFlow and Xano.

If neither fits, our roundup of Hivebrite alternatives covers ten other options with their current pricing, and our comparison of online community platforms covers the wider market.

Questions to ask before you sign with Hivebrite

Hivebrite's published pricing answers the headline question. These are the ones it leaves for the sales call:

  • What do the extensions you need (mobile app, connectors, multi-language, mentoring) cost per year?
  • What will consumption credits cover, and what is your plan's allowance?
  • How many admin seats and groups will you need in year two, and does that push you up a tier?
  • Which professional services are included in onboarding, and which are billed separately?
  • Are there discounts for multi-year terms, and what are the renewal terms?

You can compare those answers against Bettermode's published pricing, or start a 14-day Bettermode trial and test it on your own content. If you'd rather talk it through, book a demo with our team.
